Australian regulator TGA warns of ‘rare but severe’ eye disorder linked to GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic

The Australian medical community has been put on high alert following a warning issued by the nation’s regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), regarding a potentially debilitating side effect associated with a popular class of diabetes medications. GLP-1 receptor agonists, which include top-selling drugs like Ozempic, have been linked to a rare but severe eye disorder that can lead to permanent vision loss.
